Opened in 2004, NOVA Comics is a family-run business that prides itself on dedicated and knowledgeable employees proving exceptional customer service. We think of ourselves as more than just a comic shop, but as an active member of the community offering a fun and engaging place to enjoy one’s hobbies. We promote such important issues as youth literacy, development of logic and imagination, and strive to create within our store an opportunity for interaction and expression.

Our mission is to grow not just our business, but our interaction within the community by building partnerships with groups and organizations whose interests mirror our own. Please check out our community partner’s page to read about the groups we have already partnered with.

We also work with and donate to a variety of charitable organizations such as Reading is Fundamental, the Stan Lee Foundation, and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. We are always looking to expand our involvement with new charitable community organizations.

We offer an ever-expanding line of comics, games, toys, collectables, and if we don’t have it we can get it! We host many events and tournaments to interact and compete with fellow collectors and gamers.

IN MEMORIAM OF GARY A. JOHN

On February 3, 2011, we were all deeply saddened by the loss of Gary A. John. Many people knew Gary as far back as Burke Used Books, and remain friends and customers to this day. He was known for his strong sense of family and community, crazy infectious laugh, was always welcoming and ready with a conversation. It was impossible not to laugh with him or learn something new every time you talked. He believed strongly that his comic book store was not a retail location but a customer service establishment. As his daughter, Beth, takes over management of the store, we remain committed to his vision.

The family of Gary A. John wishes to thank everyone for the continued outpouring of kind words and support during this difficult time.
